Our Wedding Day - A very happy day - 7th January 2012

We had a fantastic day from start to finish. Ravi's 'best man' Maiya read this story with some of her friends........

Once upon a time there was a princess called Nicolette, who was very very beautiful.
In a kingdom close by, where lots of horses live, was a very handsome prince named Ravi who told silly jokes.
The prince met the princess near Hampton Court Palace, where she lived and thought she reminded him of a butterfly -
(that’s why the butterflies are on most things today!)
The princess was busy in her little cocoon working away, so no one really noticed how lovely she was.
The prince became friends with the princess and realised that they were both Leos, born on August 4th.
So together they both played tennis, went cycling in Richmond Park and to comedy clubs and even went to see a show with the Queen in it!
(That’s the rock band Queen - in case you really thought I meant the real queen!)
I’m too young to tell the next bit of the story but slowly they fell in love with one another.
(This is where you all say  aaaaaahhhh!).
But sadly the real King and Queen became very ill and so the princess became sad.
The prince was also sad because someone very special in his life, had to move away to a far away land.  I wonder who that was?
Both the prince and princess helped each other and with the support from their family and good friends, grew even closer together.
They thought about travelling to see new kingdoms and started making plans to go away.
SO WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
Well then one day the prince woke up, yes emphasis on woke up ! and went to see a lovely old man in beautiful Hatton Garden.
The prince bought a very special sparkly ring ......................and had a think.
Soon after, princess Nicolette met prince Ravi in Kew Palace
(well actually its Kew Gardens - but Palace sounds better).
The princess found herself in the Lily House  which just happened to be one of her most favourite places.
THEN SOMETHING SPECIAL HAPPENED.
Prince Ravi got down on one knee and asked Princess Nicolette if she would marry him!
(This is where you all say aaaaaaahhh again.)     SO WHAT DID THE PRINCESS SAY?
Yes........ off course, and both cuddled (and probably kissed!)  YUK!
The next day the prince and princess woke up and asked each other    “When will we start a new kingdom?”
The princess thought they should get the windows fixed in their current palace  whilst they thought about what to do!
They both agreed that in 10 weeks time they should marry and Princess Nicolette started spinning lots of plates very quickly.
The poor Prince Ravi tried to keep up with the Princess Nicolette’s pace.  (BLESS!)
They joined the gym and lost a chin or two and somehow both managed to get most of their friends and family together at Wotton Palace.
(Yes I know it’s not a Palace and it’s only a big posh house!!)
Princess Nicolette and Prince Ravi then said some special words, in a beatiful old library with not many books!!!!  and had 2 special feasts that day in another room.
(I know, I know........ you’ve only seen one feast so far,
but give me a break,....... I’m not making the food as well ...... the other Indian feast is coming later!
So the band played lots of fun songs and everyone danced the night away merrily
until the Prince and Princess had to say goodnight to everyone.
And then what do you all think happened next?  Was it a happy ending?
Did they live happily ever after?   OFF COURSE THEY WILL - we all love them both
I should say “ The End”  here  but it isnt..............................It’s ONLY the beginning of their beautiful life together.
Thank you all for coming today and for listening to my story.
Now please raise your glasses -”To the new prince and princess - Ravi and Nicolettte -may they have a happy life together”.
How lovely - a complete surprise to me....

My 24 hours of fun started with a manicure at the local spa with christine. We relaxed and were pampered for 1.5 hours. We made a mad dash for the champagne and snack aisles in sainsbury and then headed off to wotton house. Ofcourse we could not resist checking the party and ceremony rooms out and chat to jenny the coordinator and katie the room decorator.

Christine and eye settled into our rooms before going out to little dudley in dorking for a yummy dinner.

Back to the hotel where christine took over and poured a glass of champs, took my phone away and ran me a bubble bath. I was able to chill and slept for 8 hours, a miricle as on thurs night i had 2 hours kip!

Saturday started with breakfast cooked just for us and cousin helen. We watched all the flowers arriving thru the window and i shedy first tear of the day!

My beautiful bouquet had paperwhites, the tiny white flower, my mum's favourite.

Christine and i then went off to have our hair 'done' in dorking. The girls were fab and we came away fully hairsprayed up and ready. We were so cool as cucumbers that we even had time for coffee with cousins cathy and helen!!

Christine had had the clever idea   (thats why she was my best woman)of buying lunch at m&s so we went and had that in our room!

Christine went and took photos of the rooms as they had been 'pinked up' !

The crunch of gravel outside put a stop to the calm atmosphere as we knew people were arriving! Help!

Calmly i got my makeup on and christine helped me into my dress, then the photographer arrived and remarked that at 1.30 he had expected us both to be dressed and ready not for christine to still be in jeans....... Oooops

Before i knew it jenny and jody arrived to take me downstairs. By this point i was shaking and finding it quite hard to breathe?!?!

Yet again christine saved the day and made me laugh.

OMG i am at the door and the bridal march has just started..........

The groom and 'best man' checking they have the rings!
