Almost the end of November already

Less than 6 weeks until the big day!!

I am a stone lighter than I was 5 weeks ago and have had a dress fitting. Oh yes having purchased a beautiful cream silk monsoon dress i went into a bridal shop and am now the proud owner of a full on wedding dress with sparkly bits and a train!! VERY EXCITED.

What else..... cake, flowers, balloons, live band, dress and shoes DONE. Twiddling my thumbs now... no got loads of non wedding projects on the go.

On 10th some 'idiot' pulled across my lane of the road and i slammed on the breaks and skidded up a path. My car has been deemed too expensive to repair boo too it is now at the salvage yard. i have had a great 11 years driving my beautiful silver mini cooper and was not really ready to give it up. I am getting quite a good cheque in the post but that does not pay for enough counselling!!!

I will now be driving my mum's car, a sweet little renault clio 5 door automatic, in very good condition.

In the process of researching blinds for our lovely new windows and contemplating decorating some of the house, all before Maiya arrives in 19 days?!?!?! Crazy yes!

Almost the end of October ....

What a busy month - 

We celebrated diwali with all the family - a whole morning spent preparing the food and then 30 mins eating it. We also had presents and drew rangoli patterns oh yes and i tried on a Sari!!

Then we celebrated New Years day and Ravi and i went to Kew and he got down on one knee and proposed!! OMG!!!!!!

So now all we talk about are invitation fonts, flower arrangements and chair covers!!

It is VERY exciting.

We have postponed our travels and will hopefully go away in february.

In between all the above we have been sorting through my parent's loft and i have found a box with lots of info about my fathers early life, his parents and his grandparents - really thrilled.

Just got back from 4 fab days in Ireland catching up with my Aunt and Uncle as well as two cousins and a cousin of my mother's. It was excellent. Ravi and i had a bit of time to ourselves and went to the guiness storehouse, learning all about the process from start to glass.
We had good catch up time with the relies and i was lucky enough to have access to lots of old photo albums and took photos of old photos that i had never seen xx We are home now and it is raining.... Happy girl xx

Day 4 -if you count the weekend!!

Well - a very odd feeling not to get up for work on monday morning - no public transport, no metro and no coffee from the nice men on platform 4!!

I started off with a big list of things to do before thursday, have crossed loads off already.

My plan is to get as much done off the BIG list by the end of October so that when we take off for America there is lots of closure!

Spent this morning filing/boxing all the amazing cards and letters i received following my parent's death. People are so kind.........

My last day at nursery.

Today is my last day at the company I have worked for since Feb 2005.
There have been good times...plenty and bad and sad times.

I am leaving to start a knew part of my life that will include some travels....
